How to ship a car with Convoy Step 1
How long is my quote valid?

Once you receive your quote, it is valid for seven days.

Yes, we guarantee vehicle pickup dates if you select that option.

The first available pickup date is the earliest day you can pick up your vehicle.

Can I get a quote if I don’t know the exact address?

Yes, we can provide you with a quote with only the city or zip code of the pickup or drop-off locations. You will need to provide exact details upon booking.

All vehicles are covered under the carrier’s cargo insurance, but coverage limitations exist. Vehicles shipping to Hawaii are subject to ocean freight liner insurance limitations. For further information, please get in touch with our friendly Shipping Advisors.

Step - 2

Schedule vehicle pickup

Once you’ve booked your shipment, you can schedule the date and time of pickup with your assigned carrier. Once the carrier arrives, you will perform a joint inspection and complete a Bill of Lading. They will then load your car and head out. You can follow your vehicle’s progress with our tracking system and receive updates at your chosen frequency.

What should I do to prepare my vehicle for transport?

We recommend you wash your vehicle thoroughly prior to shipping so we can accurately evaluate its condition. You should also remove any toll transponders and personal belongings.

If you need to make a change to your first available pickup date, you can do it quickly and easily over the phone or email before or after booking.

What is top load placement?

When you choose open trailer shipping, the hauler has two levels. With top load placement, your vehicle is placed on the second level for better protection.

The Bill of Lading is a document used to record any pre-existing damage to your vehicle prior to shipping. It is also your official transport agreement and contact record. Should you need to file an insurance claim, you will need your Bill of Lading for your records.

Step - 3

Vehicle delivery

Once your vehicle is close to the drop-off location, your carrier will reach out to you to coordinate final arrangements. Once they arrive, you will both perform a thorough inspection to ensure your vehicle is in the same condition as pickup. You can then Sign the Bill of Lading confirming a safe and successful delivery, and you’re done!

When will my vehicle be delivered?

Transit times for delivery are determined mainly by mileage between pickup and drop-off locations. Generally, you can add one day of transit for every 500 miles. So, for a 1,000-mile haul, you can expect delivery within two to three days of pickup. You can check out our estimated shipping times for a more detailed explanation of delivery speeds or contact our Shipping Advisors for more information.

How can I track my vehicle while it’s in transit?

We offer vehicle tracking through email or by phone with our shipping advisors.
